I wish I could have given Central Perk a 5 star rating, but sadly I could not. This piece fits very well with Christmas in the City. The height is similar to many of the older Department 56 CIC buildings such as Woolworth's (retired in 2008) and the Coca Cola Soda Fountain. Many of the newer pieces are less than 9 inches in height. The detail is also great. What I like about Christmas in the City are the crisp lines, shape details and flat painting, which works very well with my taring layout. Central Perk has the same type of details and fits the layout well. The bricks appear to be individually placed and the railing adds distinct contrast giving the piece a more realistic look.
This is my first non-ceramic Department 56 piece, and this is where my slight disappointment is derived. Though this material is more durable and impact/chip resistant. I like ceramic buildings better. I noticed the subtle sag in the roof when I placed a straight edge on it. I also noticed that the thinner walls on the building allow light to illuminate through the sides. This is only an issue when the building is lit at night.
In summary, I like Central Perk and will definitely display it frequently. I may begin to appreciate it more after I chip another ceramic building.
Wow! This gnome is spectacular! The detail is amazing as Jim Shore does! I love that I can keep this out all year with the interchangeable baskets of the seasons! Thank you CountrynMoreGifts for the deals, fast shipping and overall selection of products! Will buy from again!
I saw this Aurora in person at a local show and knew I had to have her. I love the large size, and the sparkling jewels bring it to life. The facial expression is not 100% accurate for the character but that is to be expected on a Jim Shore piece. I still highly recommend!
This is perfect I was happy to see I could order it for my skeleton collection
