They are a must have to complete the scene. I place the wiring of the connected lights under the house they sit in front of and use a hot glue gun to secure the lights to my display. You can add loose village moss to cover any exposed wires, and the moss also adds color and depth.
Lights are very cute. I love Halloween and Disney. However, I was disappointed when I took them out of the box and there is a cord that connects the two lights. They are light weight and tip easily. They can only be separated so far or they tip over, but its probably my mistake I must have missed that part in the description.
