Haunted Swamp Shanty From Department 56 Collection

Even though this piece is made for the fall season, it can hold it's own for year-round display. Finely crafted with some realistic details going around the entire building. It's substantial size makes it an accent to any village OR a stand alone piece. I like the mixed use of material in its creation.

When I first saw this online, it did catch my eye but a bit pricy to pull the trigger. I finally had an opportunity to see this in person and there was no question I had to have this piece! The details are amazing right down to the the barrels this floating shanty rest on. Freshly scrubbed laundry strung out to dry as you float along the murky waters of some forbidden swamp. The only thing I would change is the interior white light. I haven't decided if I'm going to put an Erie slimy looking green bulb or a flicker flame bulb. Either one will bring this detailed piece to life!
