The Griffith Tower is growing on me. It is a good addition to my Christmas in the City NYC Landscape. It blends very well with the other Department 56 tall buildings. I like the use of LEDs for the lighting. Also, the contrast between the white light of the spire and the warm lights inside the building is appealing. The Griffith Tower does not have the eye-catching elements like the Empire State Building, Times Tower, Chrysler Building, or the Daily Planet, but it is still a very good addition.
The retail price of the Department 56 buildings is too high (along with the size building decreasing). I appreciate Country N More Gifts providing discounts to make their pieces affordable for those of us on a fixed income.
The only issue I have with this order was the packaging. The D56 packaging/box was too close to the surface of the shipping box. When I cut the box open, I cut the D56 box. As a collector, I try to keep both the building and the box in mint condition, and for the first time, I have damaged the packaging.
In true JIm Shore fashion, Hedwig Mini is expertly designed and has great detail. Both items ordered arrived in perfect condition. I am very pleased with the quality and the design.

This is an interesting piece. It is a very large tree that has been coated in black almost like a charcoal coating. Looks real, like it was burned up. It is a piece needed to pull the series together. If you do not have this piece, it is a must buy.
